Deadline：Tuesday, September 30, 2025

First selected artists：Late December,2025

Production period（about 3 sculptures）：Spring 2026

Installation (planned)：Summer 2026

Exhibition location：the village of Sandalino （Next to Susumu Shingu WIND MUSEUM）

Ten of the entries will be selected after careful screening by Susumu Shingu and Local Artists.
Three of the selected artists will have their original sketches made into outdoor sculptures.
The sculptures will be installed in the summer of 2026 in the village of Sandalino（in Arimafuji Park, Hyogo Prefecture, adjacent to the Susumu Shingu WIND MUSEUM）.

About Application

  1. The draft sketch should be about animals

  2. Age requirement is 15 years old or younger as of April 4, 2025

  3. Nationality are free

  4. The approval and cooperation of a parent or guardian is required due to meetings in the actual production

  5. Please refer to the application from for schedule and application rules details

How to apply

  1. Please draw a sketch of your original idea and submit it with a photo or other data via the Application form.

  2. Please use any image of the animal you would like to create, without considering the actual production method or materials used.

Public recruitment <i>Vol.2 Wooden Zoo ; Everyone's drawing will become a sculpture!</i> Call for animal sketches（sculpture drafts）　the village of <i>Sandalino</i>

We called for entries for Vol.2 Wooden Zoo from early April to September 30, 2025, and we received a total of 58 drawings submitted.
After rigorous screening by sculptors Susumu Shingu and artists from Sanda City, Kunta Fujimoto and Suzuka Takagi 4 works were selected for actual productions and 19 works were selected as honorable mentions.

We will be exhibiting the original artwork of the selected works at the Kaze no Iori inside the Susumu Shingu Wind Museum.
Exhibition Period : 13/12/2025 - until the Vol.3 Wooden Zoo Exhibition (scheduled for winter 2027)

We were pleased to have participants from the United States and France.
Each work was wonderfully unique and enjoyable.
