On Saturday, May 11, 2024, two workshops, Graffiti Wall and Genki-nobori were held at the same time, blessed with wonderful weather.
About 200 people participated, including children, parents, and friends, plus volunteers who supported the event.
The children painted freely on the 3.5 - meter - long, white Genki-nobori (streamer) under the blue sky. We were thrilled to see the children's joyful faces covered in paint In the Genki-nobori Workshop.
They dried their painted surfaces and turned them over while eating lunch. In the afternoon, the back side was painted.
The finished Genki-nobori were displayed on the pond at the Susumu Shingu WIND MUSEUM in the order they were completed. It was a wonderful view to see Genki-nobori swaying in the wind.
Not only Japanese children but also those from Vietnam, India, and France participated, making this an international event. Mr. Andrea Raos, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute also participated in the event. Mayor Katsuya Tamura of Sanda came and greeted everyone, followed by Susumu Shingu who thanked everyone for their support.
After taking pictures all together, the event ended at 14:30.
The exhibition will be open until Monday, May 27.
